First on the list is Mabo Day Celebrations on the 3rd of June 2015. Mabo Day marks a very significant time in Australia’s history when the High Court ruled on the Mabo decision in 1992. Hit the pavement for Cairns Airport Adventure Festival this month! Last is the Cooktown Discovery Festival on the 7th-9th of June 2015. With live re-enactments and a display of the very best this town has to offer, the whole family can join in the celebration of the discovery of Cooktown. From the arrival of Captain James Cook, to the growth of a town, the festival promises to make the long weekend all the more fun.
