What's the best way to escape the summer heat during your visit to our Trinity Beach family accommodation at Marlin Cove? We recommend that you head down to one of Cairns’ best known landmarks, the Esplanade, for some family time in the sun. Here is just some of the things to do at the Cairns Esplanade, a great spot to enjoy for people of all ages.
Set on the Cairns foreshore overlooking the Barrier Reef and Trinity Inlet, the saltwater swimming lagoon is 4800 sq metres and provides a safe swimming spot all year round. There's a shallow sandy area for the kids to hang out at, while on the other side of the lagoon there are timber decks to lounge on.
Muddy's is a modern, fun, safe playground and parkland with a combination of play equipment and custom designed equipment designed for a range of different ages and appropriate skill levels. Muddy's playground includes water play areas with:
- Water channels and hand pumps
- Water gates, rain shelters and jumping water jets
- "Muddy" the mud skipper sculpture
You should also check out the flying fox, sound chimes, track ride, rope bridge, slides, play houses, story telling areas, see-saw, trick track and puzzle games – the kids will have a ball!
Muddy's also provides BBQ & picnic facilities, an events lawn and an on-site cafe, Skippers, where you can have a bite to eat or something to drink during your time at the Esplanade.
Endeavor Fun Ship
The Endeavour Fun Ship is a unique playground with the marine theme suiting the Esplanade
The Skate Plaza is a park for boarders and riders to take on, with its unique innovative design and adventurous features. The inverted cradle is a highlight as it is the first for Australasia and is set in an impressive landscaped garden.
Get out and show some skills on the volleyball courts which are open Thursday to Tuesday 9am to 9.30pm.
