The Cairns Festival takes place every year and features an exciting 17 day program of live music, art, dance and entertainment played out against the beautiful subtropical backdrop of Northern Queensland.

This winter, the event will once again shine a spotlight on the cream of local Cairns talent, with a busy diary of events designed to excite, inspire and entertain. Highlights to look forward to include; the Cairns Indigenous Arts Fair, an outdoor screening of Aussie classic Mad Max by the seafront, and a performance from the Cycas Circus troupe; who specialize in breathtaking acrobatic feats with fire.

The ever popular Carnival on Collins is expected to attract over 30,000 people to the scenic botanic gardens district for the Festival’s finale, which will feature non-stop street entertainment, live music, market stalls and delicious food.

Most of the festival’s events are non-ticketed and free to attend – what better excuse for a break in Cairns this winter! If you’d like to join in the fun, Marlin Cove Trinity Beach accommodation is the perfect base.
